Courier Article For the Win!!!
Thank you to the Cedar Falls Times and Anelia
Dimitrova for covering the local (county) candidates in your paper.
Saturday's edition had my answers to questions posed. I
thought the questions were great, and appreciated the coverage of my
answers... Here is a .pdf of the on-line article!
Cedar Falls Times Article- Sheriff Thompson Runs for a Second Term
"Well, here we go again... I have been so very honored and privileged to represent this agency and the county as your sheriff. I look to all the successes that I have experienced in these past three years, as well as many of the challenges, and know that we have advanced our agency so much. The frustration is that change takes far longer than one would hope. I recognize that we have only just scratched the surface of what is possible, and look forward to continuing to challenge the Sheriff's Office to further improve on the outstanding performances that we have produced over the period of this first term in office. I'M NOT DONE YET, and I look forward to several more years of positive impact".
- Sheriff Tony Thompson
Meeting with the AFL-CIO, CWA, and UAW unions during Labor Day celebrations was a great way to hear from the public what we are doing right and where we can improve... I appreciate the conversations and the invitations... (the food was awesome too!) Thanks for the opportunity to continue to serve you as Sheriff! (See the Courier Article)
Absolutely honored to be asked to speak at the Silver Eagle Harley Davidson "9-11 Remembrance Ride". As a Soldier and a law enforcement officer, it is appropriate and certainly a privilege to spend our day reflecting and paying our respects for this great sacrifice. (See Courier Article)
What a great honor sharing the fruits of 2 1/2 years of labor,
blood, sweat, and yes, even some tears with the dedication of the
new range training facility in Raymond. This effort will
benefit the Sheriff's Office and law enforcement throughout
Northeast Iowa for the next 100 years, and I am so prideful of this
facility... of the work that went into it... and the collaboration
and partnerships that made it possible. We are truly blessed
with such a resource and I consider myself privileged to have had
the opportunity to marshal this facility into existence!

When I was asked to participate in the USO Show to help raise money for the Waterloo Honor Flights, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. When I heard that Waterloo Mayor Buck Clark would be working with me, I was convinced this was the right thing to do. What a great time, helping honor World War II veterans, but don't expect to see me in a dress again anytime soon!!! See the Video
